gobsmacked
I would not have imagined this to be Paris. I love the angle of the shot but the garbage is disturbing.

A closed in feel to this alley Zeb.

I'm surprised the authorities aren't more vigilant about this sort of problem Zeb

In reality I'm not surprised at such scenes. I did a series on the parts of Leicester (uk) with images like this not a quarter of a mile from the centre of Leicester.

Back alley fly-tipping is a big issue.

I have read Elizabeth's exclamation of 'amazing art'. To me it is an expression of frustration, desperation and the only way that is available for the creators to have their voice heard/noticed.

Oh, what a sad place in Paris - next January w'll visit this quartier walking on Jewish roots ... I saw in Brussels and Berlin similar lanes, the shadow sides of all the cities, like Richard I am not surprised!
similar to Rocinha, Brazil (my posts over the next few days)

I think you have stepped into someone's bedroom.
Yes, another side of Paris that we don't usually see. Good shot Zeb
There is a fine line between picturesque and just plain grotty grin
It seems as if some people call this alley way their home, Zebigleb. A fabulous shot showing another side of Paris.
On se croirait quelque part en Afrique Paul!
Bonne soirée
