Belle gueule

Série "Egyptian Trip" - Vue n° 065

Post N° 1022

I've been amazed to see how most of the statues of the site were in really good condition for their age
(Nose and arms are certainly the most fragile parts Laughing )

 Karnak

Il est surprenant de voir comme la plupart des statues du site sont en excellent état pour leur âge
(Le nez et les bras sont sans doute les parties les plus fragiles Laughing )

That fine carving around the neck and shoulders still looks fresh, Zebigleb.

I totally agree, Zeb. How these images stand the test of time and weather is beyond me!
Zebigleb: That's due to centuries in the sand !!
Salut à toi O! Zeb.
J'ai dû m'absenter pendant trois semaines, je reviens de pied ferme!
C'est vrai qu'elles sont très bien conservées.
Zebigleb: Merci Richard, heureux de te revoit smile

Wow, some parts do look like they were only done yesterday.
Zebigleb: Yes, it's due to centuries in the sand !
It is amazing isn't it! This one is really beautiful.
Zebigleb: Yes, very fine details !
I must say that the sharpness of the carving is really remarkable. Another lovely capture. (:o)
Zebigleb: Thank you Rosalyn !!
The quality is amazing. Imagine these in their heyday, they must have been something to behold
Zebigleb: You've to know that most of them were painted...
